There are up to 3 government rebates which we can potentially claim on your behalf. We can advise you what rebates you can claim. This reduces the total cost of your heat pump hot water system and installation. These rebate amounts change regularly.

We can apply for these rebates on your behalf and offer the amounts as a price reduction on the total cost of the job.

Use your rebates wisely, you cannot claim all rebates again in the future because you made a poor choice with an inferior heat pump or installation business.

Heat Pump Rebates

1 - Clean Energy Regulator - STC Rebate

STC’s are used as a way to meet renewable energy targets and reduce carbon emissions. They make renewable energy systems more accessible and attractive. When you install an eligible renewable energy system, you earn a certain number of STCs.

The average amount of this rebate is generally around $580.

2 - Victorian Energy Upgrades - VEEC Rebate

The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program offers incentives for households to upgrade to efficient hot water systems. Only products meeting the VEU program requirements can be installed under this program. This is commonly called the VEEC rebate. VEEC rebate amounts vary depending if the system you are replacing is common storage electric or gas. Existing solar hot water systems do not qualify.

The average amount of this rebate is around $500 when replacing an electric system and $440 when replacing a gas system.

Note: Your old hot water system has to be decommissioned and scrapped as part of the rebate process. We take care of this for you.

3 - Solar Victoria Rebate

Solar Victoria- Heat Pump Rebate (VEU)

As a Victorian householder, you could receive a hot water rebate if you meet the following criteria:

you are the owner-occupier of an existing property where the system is to be installed
the combined household taxable income of all owners is less than $150,000 per year
the property is valued at under $3 million
the property address has not previously received a hot water rebate or a solar battery rebate under the Solar Homes Program
the hot water system to be replaced is at least 3 years old from the date of purchase
a solar hot water system must be 5 years old and the solar component of it must be non-functioning
Note: Rental properties at this stage cannot claim this rebate.

Householders cannot receive the same Solar Homes rebate more than once. For example, if a householder has previously received a hot water rebate, they cannot receive another hot water rebate for the same property.

This rebate is $1000 for imported systems and $1400 for an Australian made systems.

The rebates are added together to calculate the total deduction in the cost of the heat pump installation.

Note: The calculations were based on installing an AquaPlus 270L (model APAIO270) Heat Pump. Installation date Feb 2026. Location Frankston 3199, Victoria.
